Family and MWR Brand Implementation Plan for Installations

Family and MWR Command introduced a new logo effective 24 APR 2010.  This new logo specifically highlights Family and MWR customers by naming them in the tagline.  "Soldiers Families Retirees Civilians" in red text encircles the bottom portion of the blue world graphic already familiar to our audience.  The implementation of the new logo comprises a two year period with all garrisons required to be logo compliant by May 1, 2010 as indicated in OPERATIONS ORDER 10-102:  New Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Logo and Voice Guidelines (U).  The recommended items listed below will help garrisons work towards ensuring their logo usage is compliant with OPORD 10-102 and fully integrated throughout the Family and MWR Command organization.

 

Additional detailed usage instructions, logo guidelines and downloadable images are available at www.mwrbrandcentral.com. Garrisons should take note of all occurrences of logo usage throughout their installation and group those usages into one of the following three categories:

(1) Easy to replace in the immediate term;
(2) To be replaced in the short term;
(3) More permanent and costly and to be replaced in the long term.

  • 24 April 2010 – 1 Oct 2010
    • The old logo and “For All Of Your Life” tagline are obsolete and are no longer authorized for use. 
    • The new logo and tagline as shown (and with customized garrison option as shown at www.mwrbrandcentral.com) are the only logos/graphics authorized for use.
    • Immediate actions should be taken to replace any old logo usage and tagline wherever they may appear/be used.  Items includes but not limited to:  email signatures, posters, stickers, window decals, or any other smaller, easy to replace item that can be updated with the new logo in the immediate term. 
    • Any promotional items, business cards and other similar inventories should be depleted with new orders placed using the new logo/tagline.  NOTE:  Garrisons now have the option to customize the logo for their specific garrison.  Please refer to www.mwrbrandcentral.com for details and examples of how this may be implemented.
    • Begin noting larger ticket items and their replacement cost for budgeting purposes between now and 1 May 2012.

     

  • 1 Oct 2010 – 1 May 2011
    • All existing promotional item inventories, posters, print jobs, and other items that may exist in mass quantity should be depleted by 1 May 2011. 
    • Continue noting larger ticket items and their replacement costs.  Items should be budgeted in a timeframe that allows for the item to be in place by 1 May 2012.

     

  • 1 May 2011 – 1 May 2012
    • Exterior signage and other permanent occurrences of the logo should be replaced no later than 1 May 2012.
    • As of 1 May 2012 all visual imagery depicting the Family and MWR logo must reflect the new version of the logo that includes the tagline “Soldiers Families Retirees Civilians”.
